Getting off went more or less according to plan. We dropped Luna off with some friends who graciously offered to "puppy sit," then got stuck in traffic (as expected) on our way to the Charlotte airport. Boy, I sure miss living next to RDU when we lived in Raleigh.
We still made it in plenty of time. The kiosk didn't print my boarding pass and we had to move some stuff from Marsha's suitcase to Madison's, but it was all pretty painless for our first International flight (and Marsha's first flight in fifteen years).
With the help of some meds, we managed to get her on the plane just fine. And praise the Lord, she stayed on, even after the pilot announced "last chance for anyone who wants to get off." Thanks, Dude.
Hit some rough turbulence early on, but the vast majority of the flight has been smooth sailing. Marsha's meds never did knock her out like they were supposed to, but she's done fantastic and is actually enjoying the flight. I couldn't be more proud!
In just about 30 minutes we'll be landing at Heathrow to begin the adventure of a lifetime. All of us with no sleep and jumping ahead five hours. No worries, though. We're all too excited to hit the streets and take in London for the very first time. Been a long time coming baby, and we're ready to enjoy every second of it!
Great intro :)
